Do you plan to go on tour?

From the beginning, we have intended to be a live band. Unfortunately we have yet to work out the logistics of putting on a tour. The hurdles are technical, financial and personal. From a technical standpoint, Robert has been increasingly extending his studio techniques into nonlinear realms, creating sounds that don't translate into performable instruments. To recreate much of the texture in our music we would have to rely extensively on tape and sampling, which we don't feel very comfortable about. From a financial perspective, we would have to hire at least three or four other musicians to help us perform our current songs, and we don't feel that we can currently mount a tour large enough to cover such expense. From a personal standpoint, both Robert and Rick have been so busy with other aspects of life and career that they have found it rather tough to allocate the big chunk of time required for touring.

OK, now that we're done whining and making excuses, we will say that we are pondering the possibility (even the necessity) of live performance, and we are hoping to figue out how to pull it off as soon as we finish our next album.
